Overview
We are a leading educational publisher and are looking for a strong Actionscript developer with excellent graphic design skills. An exciting opportunity exists to join a growing team to develop interactive and innovative digital educational products.
Projects will be both Web-based and CD-ROM based interactive applications, Flash animations, and banner ads. The successful candidate will be primarily working with an existing set of artwork and tasked with developing a suite of e-learning interactive activities. Design responsibilities will include, but not limited to, working with existing Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/Quark/PDF files to extract and enhance artwork and graphics where necessary, in addition to creating new graphics. Design work will also include marketing material.
We are looking for someone with strong development skills and high-quality creative talent. Extensive Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0 experience a must, in addition to Object Orientated programming. The candidate will own all visual problem solving, creative solution development, UI design, layout & composition, visual and audio integration, and application deployment. This is an initial 6 month project based contract, with a strong possibility of being extended to a fulltime role.
Portfolio is required prior to interview. Salary is negotiable.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop web-based and CD-ROM based interactive educational applications and learning objects in Flash Actionscript.
- Prepare and draft business, functional and technical specification documents.
- Structuring Flash content to enable efficient re-use, customisation and localisation.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team that includes sales and marketing, editors, graphic designers, and authors.
- Troubleshoot and expand existing Flash products.
- Work with Project Managers to engage and manage outside technical development partners.
Essentials
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Multimedia/Web Design, or related discipline.
- Proven aptitude for Design and creating original material using all elements of graphic design.
- At least 4+ years as an Interactive Flash Developer.
- Experience of the following is essential: Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0.
- Experience with Object Orientated Programming.
- Excellent debugging skills.
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript a plus.
- Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/Quark a MUST.
- Experience in developing interactive learning and gaming products.
- Experience in deploying autorun applications to CD and DVD.
Highly Desirable
- Ability to work under short deadlines
- Animation and Illustration experience
- Experience with After Effects, SoftImage, XSI.
