The Educational Company of Ireland are proud to announce that our HTML5 Student E-Book Platform was awarded Silver Finalist in the Best E-Learning Category at the Digital Media awards 2012.
EdcoDigital was launched in 2009 with the specific objective of delivering our Primary and Post Primary books and resources to the Interactive Whiteboards in the classrooms.
With the emergence of tablet devices and netbooks like the iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab and Fizzbook, and the ongoing concern about the weight of students schoolbags, our digital team decided to look into ways of delivering the books and associated resources (documents, video, audio and images) through these devices.
For the 2011-2012 school year, we have over 90 Post Primary titles available digitally. These can be accessed in three ways
- Online on this website
- Through an app on the iPad and
- Through an app for Windows Tablet Devices.
Access to the books in digital format is organised through your school.
The EdcoDigital team looks forward to further developing our books in digital format, providing a rich resource for each subject matter and enabling students and teachers to store their own material in line with the books they are using.
