Sunny Street Chatterbox 1

Chatterbox is part of the Sunny Street Primary Series. These contain contain a variety of exercises that are ideal for teacher observation and informal assessment of talk.

  • The Revised Curriculum (1999) promotes the following four strands of language learning: (1) receptiveness to language, (2) competence and confidence in using language, (3) developing cognitive abilities through language, (4) emotional and imaginative development through language.
  • The Sunny Street programme takes cognisance of each of these strands and relates them to areas of language learning.
  • The material that supports this process includes: video and audiotape/CDs and the Chatterbox oral language cards
  • The Chatterbox Language Cards contain fun activities which engage and involve children in oral language.
  • They are ideal for ongoing observation and assessment.
