Educational Sales Representative - Munster

If so, The Educational Company of Ireland (Edco), Ireland’s leading educational Publisher for over 100 years, wishes to recruit an experienced Sales Representative to its growing team. Reporting to the Sales Manager this exciting position involves selling and promoting the company’s highly successful print, digital and e-learning range of publications and resources to primary and post-primary schools.
 
We are looking for a well organised self-starter, with a positive outlook, good people skills and ideally with an interest in Education and technology.
 
The ideal candidate should also be able to demonstrate a high level of skill in the areas of communication, relationship building, organisation, sales presentation and time management. A sales and target drive background is very important and we are seeking someone with a good manner and not afraid of hard work, driving, lifting and actually engaging with and presenting to customers. The role involves physically carrying in a large quantity of book samples to multiple schools on a daily basis. 
 
Key requirements

  •  A proven track record in sales is essential with a proven history of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication, presentation and customer service skills
  • Energy, drive and ambition, with the ability to handle challenges and drive to succeed
  • Knowledge of technology and ICT including the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable with presenting via Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other virtual platforms 
  • The ability to work as an individual or as part of a highly successful team
  • Full driving licence

 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 
 

  • Account management of all schools in the territory 
  • Building and maintaining relationships
  • Achieving set sales targets
  • Growing product market share
  • Participation required at launch and promotional conferences and events held on weekends and/or weekday evenings
  • Role requires management, organisation, lifting and delivery of product (books) to schools and teachers

Junior Editor

The Educational Company of Ireland (Edco), Ireland’s leading educational Publisher, wishes to recruit an enthusiastic hard-working Junior Editor to join their busy team. The Junior Editor will assist colleagues with various tasks, as well as managing some of their own projects. This is a varied and interesting role where the Junior Editor will develop their skills and experience while working within a dynamic growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for their next challenge in publishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Copyediting and proofreading
  • Copyright clearance
  • Photo research
  • Collating and checking corrections
  • Briefing illustrators and checking illustrations
  • Project management
  • Administrative tasks
  • Creating and checking digital resources
  • Contributing to social media campaigns

Key Competencies, Experience and Qualifications

  • Education to degree level, or equivalent
  • Some experience within the publishing industry (three to six months or more)
  • Exceptional time management and prioritising skills
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Copyediting and proofreading skills
  • An interest in design, digital learning experiences and multimedia
  • Good IT skills (particularly MS Word and Office)
  • An interest in education
